Group Adventure in Dalarna

Day 1

Arrival day:

• Arrival at the resort Snöåbruk in Dala-Järna welcomed by our instructor of Dalara Outdoor.

• Getting acquainted with the Instructor followed to discuss the schedule for upcoming week.

• The food bags for the hike are handed over plus any additional hired materials.

• Short walk towards the lake where our Instructor will let you taste some Swedish Culture!

• Opportunity to unpack your stuff and relax from the trip to the resort.

 

Evening:

• Dinner meal at the resort  and afterwards one can relax and looking back the past day.

 

Day 2

Morning/afternoon:

• Breakfast at the resort after which we gather up at the fire place to enjoy a Swedish Fika.

• Afterwards some workshops will be held by our Instructor in preparation to the hiking tour and some basic skills of Survival; Navigating through the wilderness by means of a map, compass and GPS. How to look for a tinder at the forest for preparing a fire in many different ways.

• Also the subject ‘Safety and Emergency situations’ we’ll pay attention to. What can we do to increase our safety in wilderness as much as possible.

• Material check.

• Lunch at the resort and afterwards one has the possibility to have some time for your own.

 

Evening:

• Dinner at the resort.

• After you finished your dinner, our instructor will pick you up for a Wilderness Wildlife Safari! He will take you to an unique panorama view in the direct area and show you beautiful places along the road. He will tell you about the different kinds of landscapes and the wildlife of Sweden. We are going to search for the tracks of wild animals where our instructor will tell you about, hopefully we will spot them!

• After we arrived at the panorama view we will make a campfire and enjoy a tasty drink.

 

 

Day 3

Whole day hike and survival:

Today we will enter the wilderness for a beautiful trip. During this trip you are going to practice your skills by navigating on your own, recognize  animal tracks and interpret them and by collecting tinder to start a fire with.

During the hike we will take a break to prepare ourselves a foodbag and afterwards we’ll continue hiking towards a Swedish cabin in the wilderness.

Once arrived at the Swedish cabin we will start a fire with the provided tinder. Both in- and outside the cabin, depending on the weather.

After we started the fire we will get the chance to taste some wild meat from our locals! We will prepare the meet on the grill and enjoy the unique taste. The meat will be from a deer or moose, depending on what is available.

After a nice evening and a full stomach, we’re going to sleep in the Swedish cabin. Preparing ourselves for the next adventurous day!

 

Day 4

Morning, hike and survival:

After we made and enjoyed our breakfast we will continue hiking. During this hike we will look for natural food. Even in wintertime the nature provides us with food, you only need to know where to look. This is also very important knowledge to be able to survive in nature!

Afterwards we will navigate back to the starting earlier today.

 

Afternoon:

• Lunch at the resort and some time to refresh yourselves.

 

Evening:

• Tonight we are going to visit a special place in Dala-Järna, the ‘Hembygdesgård’. This is a place where you feel like going back in time. The locals use this gatherings place to organize their activities and events. Our instructor will give you a tour along all these traditional Swedish cottages.

• Afterwards we are going to enjoy a barbecue in the ‘Hembygdesgård’. We will offer you meet from our local slaughter.

• After we enjoyed the tasty barbecue we’re heading back to the resort.

 

Day 5

Morning:

• Breakfast at the resort.

• We will take off for an adventurous snow scooter- or quad safari through the wilderness! An unforgettable experience!

 

Afternoon:

- Lunch at the resort/elsewhere, depending on the chosen activities.

- Afterwards you have an opportunity to choose from any of underneath;

• Visit to the museum of Naturum in Siljansnäs

• (Ice)fishing

• Visit to the ‘Björnparken’ in Mora (the bear park)

• (Cross country) skiing

• Visit to the Copper mines in Falun

 

Evening:

• Dinner at the resort.

• Time for yourselves to relax or to undertake another activity.

 

Day 6

Morning:

• Breakfast at the resort.

• This morning we are going to hike through the reservation ‘Hästingsflotten’. There are several Swedish cabins to see and a beautiful landscape! At one of the cabins we will start a fire at the fireplace where we are going to prepare us some lunch from the foodbags.

 

Afternoon:

- At the afternoon you have again the opportunity to choose from any of underneat;

• Visit to the museum of Naturum in Siljansnäs

• (Ice)fishing

• Visit to the ‘Björnparken’ in Mora (the bear park)

• (cross country) skiing

• Visit to the Copper mines in Falun

 

Evening:

• Diner at the resort.

• Time for yourselves to relax or to undertake another activity.

 

Day 7

Morning:

• Final breakfast at the resort followed by an evaluation with our instructor to complete the past adventurous week.

• Return home.

Trip/transport

The group will travel by themselves. In general transport to Sweden is not included in our rate, but this can be arranged against

additional charges.

 

Snöåbruk Resort

The price is based on double rooms . There’s a possibility to book single rooms against additional rate.

 

Extra consumptions

It’s possible to order extra snacks and drinks at the resort. These consumptions are not included in our rates and can be paid right away or at the last day. You can pay for these cash or by credit- or bank card.

Availability

This program is in general available from April till October.

In terms of bad weather conditions the organization will adjust the tour.
